Peak Palisade Peach Season Guide: Where to find fruit and fare in Colorado

According to The Palisade Chamber of Commerce, peach harvest season typically runs from late June to mid-September, and August’s arrival means peak ripeness, busy orchards and statewide availability for Coloradans.

This non-comprehensive list features locations and events selling Palisade peaches and peach products throughout Colorado. All of these suggestions came from internet platforms, websites and community suggestions gathered through inquiries in Colorado groups on social media.

Peach availability at each location will vary as supplies are limited and in demand.

Farmers markets and upcoming events

Several members of Facebook communities have found Palisade peaches at local farmers markets and festivals. Below is a list of some mentioned directly, but local markets not featured on this list or widely advertised may also have stands that sell Palisade peaches.

Shop local spots

Coloradans have seen and purchased Palisade peaches from the list of local businesses, orchards, farms and more in this section.

  • Located in Brush, Brush FreshFoods is a grocery store that focuses on serving “fresh produce” and cuts of meat via a “mega” counter.

  • Clark Family Orchards, located in Palisade, is a “7 generation Family Farm.” According to their website, the orchards have a fruit stand and serve peach ice cream on Saturdays during the summer. They are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day during their season.

  • The Farmer’s Daughter Colorado is a family orchard; customers can order their peaches online to pick up at the orchard’s peach shed in Monument, which is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. They can also buy from them in person at the Backyard Farmers Market in Black Forest, which takes place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • According to their Facebook page, Forte Fruits is an over 50-year-old business with several Colorado and Palisade orchards. While they have market locations in the state, their store in Englewood sells fresh produce, meat, honey and other locally produced goods.

  • Green Barn Fruit Co. is a “U-Pick Orchard” in Palisade. Their hours of operation are available to view on their website. Those interested can also purchase jars of chunky jalapeño peach preserves and other seasonal fruit preserves.

  • Heinie’s Market Inc. in Wheat Ridge sells produce, including seasonal staples like Christmas trees and fall pumpkins.

    The family-owned farmers market brings produce all over the state; they offer popcorn, herb plants, canned products, jams and jellies. Customers can also purchase their own canning supplies.

    According to their website, they also sell bedding plants and flowers in the spring and early summer.

    Heinie’s Market is open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and every other day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to Google.

  • Lulu’s Farm in Brighton sells a range of fresh produce and varieties, in addition to garden accessories and grilling and smoking necessities. Those interested in purchasing produce can track their approximate stock through a list they update regularly on their website.

    The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

  • Malara Gardens in Arvada is a family-owned garden center and farmers market. They sell outdoor plants, produce and outdoor decor and specialize in seasonal produce, and they occasionally host special events like cooking demos and sample opportunities.

  • Mt. Lincoln Peach Co. is a Palisade family farm that offers tours and “U-PICK-IT” opportunities that run from mid-July to mid-September every year.

  • Palisade Peach Shack is a family-owned orchard offering bookable, one-hour “U-Pick” tours daily. According to their website, they have a gift shop featuring preserves, jams and more. They also have a menu full of dishes, including a peach latte, matcha, a peach milkshake, desserts, pot pies, burritos and more.

  • Palombo Farms Market in Henderson describes themselves on their website as a “farm fresh produce market;” they offer a variety of produce options, and visitors are encouraged to call and check on the stock of each item.

    In addition to produce, the market offers specialty items like popcorn, agave and hot sauces. A list of all their offerings is available on their website.

    According to Google, Palombo Farms is open Tuesdays-Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Pete’s Fruits & Vegetables in Denver describes themselves in their Instagram bio as a local “Grocery Store-Deli-Butcher Shop” with “Imported Greek Products.”

  • Phelan Gardens in Colorado Springs describes themselves as a “year-round greenhouse, nursery, gift shop & garden center” on their website.

    They offer seasonal décor, indoor and outdoor plants and more. Those interested in purchasing Palisade peaches from them are asked to call first and check availability.

    They are open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    In addition to selling locally grown produce, the shop offers specialty items like Village Pie Maker pies and Clark’s Honey.

    They are open Mondays-Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Scofield Fruits LLC in Loveland sells a range of seasonal produce, plants and pies from The Village Pie Maker. They sell via a fruit stand and at farmers markets in Estes Park and Loveland.

    Their fruit stand is open through September, Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • According to their website, Z’s Orchard in Palisade has been selling peaches and produce since 1973. They allow people to visit and encourage them to stop by their farm’s country kitchen, which sells peach goods, canned produce and more.

    They sell at several local markets and events in three Colorado cities, and those interested can order shipments online from anywhere in the United States.

Coloradans regularly share Palisade peach roadside stand sightings, and while the following list of them is not confirmed, most have been mentioned by multiple users.

  • Several social media users have found Palisade peaches in their local grocery stores; King Soopers, Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Sprouts and Walmart locations throughout the state carry them.

  • According to their website, Royal Crest Dairy is selling 8 lb flats of peaches from Talbott Farms, which they note means customers receive 16-20 peaches per flat.

Peach eats

Eateries, restaurants and small businesses also use Palisade peaches in dishes and goods. Below are a few that have advertised food items and been recommended:

  • 4 Noses Brewing has taproom and brewery locations in Park Hill and Broomfield. According to their website, those interested can purchase four packs of their Peachopotamus beer to go, which they describe as “a delicate wheat ale with robust peach flavor!”

  • According to their Instagram announcement, Denver-based Blue Pan Pizza’s special pie of the month is “Life’s a Peach;” it’s topped with Palisade peach slices, red onion, candied walnuts, balsamic and Maldon salt.

  • Farmhouse at Breckenridge Brewery is offering a Palisade Peach Wheat ale. According to their website, several Breckenridge Brewery locations in Colorado are viewable via their map.

  • Ferment Culture is selling lacto-fermented Palisade peach bread and butter pickles, according to a post on their Instagram page. They use cucumbers from Double Lutz Farm and peaches from Topp Fruits.

  • Homegrown Tap & Dough is selling a Palisade Peach pizza while supplies last. According to their website, the pie is topped with peach slices, mozzarella and ricotta cheese, jalapenos and drizzles of olive oil and hot honey.

  • For August, Kakigori Ken, a shaved ice dessert shop in Denver, is offering Palisade peach-flavored shaved ice.

  • Mash Mechanix Brewing Co. announced that they use Palisade peaches in their Peach Wheat, which will be available on tap in September.

  • The Milky Way in Palisade is selling peaches they grow themselves, as well as peach desserts, teas, ice cream drinks, lattes, kombucha and matcha.

  • Tovah Homestead in Palmer Lake announced on Aug. 15 that they are selling Palisade peach coffee cake at their farm stand. They may also still have peaches available.
