Women-Owned Business Guide: Featuring businesses across Colorado

Notes: Everything highlighted in this guide was found through suggestions from Colorado residents. No local publications were consulted or used to create this list. Quotes were adjusted to follow Associated Press Style Guidelines and to fit the listicle structure.
The month of March offers many opportunities to celebrate the societal contributions women have made and continue to make, many of which come from local business owners.
This listicle serves as a guide to some of Colorado’s women-owned businesses, and they are sorted by the cities in which they are based. All of the businesses listed were gathered only from community member recommendations. More businesses will be added to this list throughout the month.
Arvada
Jill Lees, who is a licensed mental health therapist, owns Meer Soul Counseling. She said she focuses on “working with adult women to help them better understand their thoughts, behaviors and where they come from.”
Lees said she offers 55-minute virtual and in-person therapy sessions, weekly and biweekly, and they are specific to each client.
Taylor Young, a Licensed Professional Counselor, owns Mindfulness Counseling. According to her website, she is an individual and couples counselor based in Arvada.
She also offers Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Trauma Therapy, which, her website said, helps to reduce a client’s stress that comes with any traumatic memories they may have.
Katie Sorenson is a Nurse Practitioner who owns Weight Loss NP, LLC, which helps clients with diabetes management and medical weight loss.
Their website said they use “the game-changing GLP-1 medication class, expert coaching, and more” to help their clients be their healthiest and feel their best.

Boulder
Kristine Raynor owns Boulder Broth, which sells sipping broths made with fresh and local ingredients. According to their website, all of the ingredients put into the business’s products come from Buckner Family Farm.
The broth is available in stores and farmers’ markets in several Colorado cities.
Amelia Black is a startup attorney and the co-founder of Peach Legal; the law firm’s website describes their services as “Fractional Legal support for high-growth companies.”
The company is comprised of Black and her co-founder Brandon Moynihan, a “startup exec.” They strive to create enjoyable experiences with clear, flat fees up front.

Colorado Springs
Herbalist Shay Koloff owns Zenith Moon Co., a holistic health and herbal-focused business. According to their website, they sell herb blends and products for metaphysical use and self-care. They also offer virtual and in-person herbal classes and programs.
Mary McDonald is the owner and founder of Aegemis Digital Investigations, which she said specializes in private investigations and digital forensics. They take on clients all over the country.
“They offer unique digital investigation services including background checks [and] locates, social media and online dating safety, finding stalking applications on devices, helping document evidence for court (work one on one with an investigator), help with kids devices and smart devices and much more.”
According to McDonald, Aegemis Digital Investigations offers special services for domestic violence victims, employers, landlords, attorneys and their clients.
She also mentioned an upcoming discount on self-check services. It will be available for the month of April, which is Second Chance Month.
“Aegemis will be offering 20% off all self-check services all month long (a self-check shows an individual what will be found when others, such as an employer, run a check on them, so they know exactly what will be found before they apply to jobs, etc.).”
Eryn Maggard runs Gingersnap Rescue Ranch, a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit she started five years ago after a wildfire destroyed her former goat milking farm.
Maggard said the ranch puts a lot of work into connecting with the community. “We do farm education, volunteering, community service, petting farms, mobile petting farms, etc., to help the ranch grow.”

LaBrisa Jimenez runs Young Entrepreneurs of Colorado Springs; she and her son support a group of children ages 4-17 who own a small business.
LaBrisa said the children in this group receive access to resources that help them manage their small businesses.
“I host events for them free of charge, offer scholarships, business classes and help them get into local businesses. It was my son's idea. We have been doing it for four years.”
Jimenez also owns Crazy Hair Don’t Care, which offers hair, feather and tinsel extensions. She said customers can book them to provide fun hair additions, styling and washing services and glitter tattoos at events.
“When we come to you, we bring the best tinsels, colored hair extensions, rooster feathers and faux hair wraps! You can curl, straighten [and] wash your hair like normal! My daughter does glitter tattoos at these parties as well.”
Alex Hamm, an abstract intuitive artist, owns Majestik Magnolia.
Newly based in Colorado Springs, the shop offers “artwork and paper goods to make every day Majestik.” Hamm’s designs can be purchased on greeting cards, shirts, special prints and more.
Haley Wise is a clinical supervisor, licensed professional counselor and the owner of The Compassion Collaborative.
The Compassion Collaborative is based in Colorado Springs, and, according to their website, they offer multiple forms of therapy for all ages through a team of therapists. Sessions can be virtual, hybrid or in person, and those interested in a consultation should use the contact form on The Compassion Collaborative’s website.
Conifer
Teri Fox is a Certified Dru Yoga instructor who teaches in Bailey, Conifer, Lakewood and Evergreen. She described Dru Yoga as “a combination of Qigong, Tai Chi, and Hatha Yoga.”
Fox said that she and Breanna Markwell, a skin aesthetician and sound healer, do events together in Bailey.
Denver
Hearth and Seoul Herbal Shop, Christine Young’s business, primarily sells herbal tea blends. According to their website, they also host tea leaf readings, have crafting workshops, do herbal consultations, host bakery pop-ups and more.
According to Hearth and Seoul’s “About” page, Young also attends local pop-ups and markets, where she sells tea products and Korean foods.
Andrea Darley owns Darley Designs, where she sells prints of her photos in a range of sizes. According to her Instagram, Darley also makes custom decorations and does interior design work for customers in the Denver area.
Jennifer Mosquera, an artist and designer, is the Chief Creative and Co-founder of Prismajic; the arts company, whose campus contains an exhibit, venue and The Night Owls speakeasy bar, has been making immersive art experiences for over ten years, according to their website.
Mosquera said she designed and came up with Shiki Dreams, the exhibit that Prismajic currently has on display. According to Prismajic’s website, the exhibit immerses visitors in “the enchanting and surreal forest inhabited by Shiki, a mystical yeti and leader of the Spirits of the Forest.”
Bridget Taylor, a glass artist, owns Ceridwen Glass. She specializes in creating fused glass pieces via commissions, mosaic-stained glass pieces and glass sculptures.
She noted that she hopes to connect with more people, especially business owners, across the state.

Lele Bee owns Bee Divine, a Denver-based business that specializes in healing and skin and reproductive health.
Bee Divine offers life and spiritual coaching, facial treatments, sound healing therapy sessions, Yoni Steaming sessions and more.
Bee Divine also offers their own line of self-care products through their website.
According to the Bee Divine website, the business hosts an Align & Awaken event every Sunday and on the second and third Thursdays of every month. Each session includes a sound bath, guided meditation, journaling and breath work.
Aliza Cruz Moore owns Moore Stump Removal, a tree services business based in Denver.
According to their website, Moore Stump Removal can grind stumps, remove trees and inspect and clear land for major construction projects.

Englewood
Amanda Denney and Melissa Micnhimer are the founders of NeuroVista LLC, where they offer tailored neurofeedback services. Micnhimer said neurofeedback tracks brainwaves and helps improve anxiety, PTSD, depression and more through self-regulation.
Micnheimer said NeuroVista LLC also offers trauma treatment. “While neurofeedback is an incredibly powerful tool, we’ve found that pairing it with various forms of talk therapy leads to the most well-rounded and lasting results.”
NeuroVista LLC will also work within financial constraints and aim for fair prices.
Taylor Gudeahn is a tattoo artist, and in addition to doing work through Gudeahn Art, she owns T & Honey Tattoo in Englewood.
She described the tattoo shop as “a space where everyone is welcome, creativity thrives and self-care is just as important as the art itself. Our shop is built on inclusivity, quality and community, and we’re so excited to host our Grand Opening event next month!”
According to the shop’s Instagram page, they will officially open on April 19 with a tea party from 4 to 8 p.m.
Those with “botanical, whimsical and illustrative tattoos” in mind can make an appointment with the shop after their grand opening. An esthetician will also be part of the shop’s services.
Fort Collins
Lindsey Martinez, a “website wingwoman” and design strategist who works out of Fort Collins, owns Aspen Design Studios. She works to create “stunning, strategic and revenue-generating websites without the stress, confusion or endless DIY rabbit holes” for businesses.
She said she uses a “Complete Website Design Flow” to streamline and take the stress out of creating a website.
Fort Morgan
Brandy Fries owns Mystical’s Menagerie LLC, a holistic gift and metaphysical supply shop based in Fort Morgan.
According to their website, Mystical’s Menagerie LLC sells handmade goods ranging from clothing and intentional jewelry to cleansing and smudging supplies.
They also host monthly Morgan County Makers, with over 16 vendors present to sell artisan goods each time.

Greeley
CEOs Jade and MaLeah Calderon own MarketingByJae, a business that helps businesses meet their social media marketing needs.
According to their website, businesses can purchase social media content packages to document special events, or they can work with MarketingByJae to figure out strategies, develop content and monitor the results.
Greenwood Village
Christine Ellis Kosoff owns Colorado Kitchen Designs, a Greenwood Village-based cabinetry business that customizes their products to fit each client’s needs.
According to their website, the business began in 1998, and they create countertops and cabinets, connecting their clients with industry professionals that will complete each project.

Larkspur
Hannalore Tice owns High Country Horse and Hound, a dog and horse training business based in Larkspur.
According to their Facebook bio, High Country Horse and Hound tailors their dog training to each client, providing options ranging from “real-world training and breed-specific enrichment to half-day adventure hikes with a trainer.”
Littleton
Jamie Montesanti owns Montesanti Renovations LLC and Women Contractors of Colorado.
Montesanti said Montesanti Renovations LLC is a home remodeling company based in Littleton, and she specializes in tile work. According to her Facebook bio, Montesanti has over 15 years of experience in her line of work.
According to Montesanti, Women Contractors of Colorado is “a networking and community [Facebook] group for women-owned businesses in the trades” with 165 members across the state. The group also recently started a separate affiliated Facebook group called Connections for “customers, affiliates and anyone interested in what [they] are trying to do for [their] community.”

Kaitlyn Fox owns KB Custom Photography LLC; according to her website, she shoots weddings, engagement photos, newborns, family and maternity pictures and is available for branding and senior portrait sessions.
Cassie Chacon owns Cassie’s Corner Nails, where she works with natural nails and does gel manicures, pedicures and extensions.
According to the Cassie’s Corner Nails Facebook page, Chacon has been a nail specialist since 2012.
Debby Campbell sells nickel-safe and stainless-steel personalized jewelry, as well as PermaLinx Permanent Jewelry, for the women-founded business jBloom.
jBloom’s PermaLinx options include bracelets and anklets, and customers who buy personalized pieces can get them engraved for free.

Marie Yarrington, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, owns Where Flowers Bloom Counseling LLC; She offers therapy sessions for teenagers and adults.
Yarrington allows clients to pay however they need to and have in-person sessions in an environment that works for them.

Whitney Frost is the founder and clinical director of The Rylie Center for Hope and Healing. According to their website, the center specializes in “working with pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss, infertility, and postpartum related mental health conditions, postpartum wellness and the Matrescence/Patrescense transition.”
They support women, womxn and their families from preconception through postpartum with their health services. They also offer general mental health support and are trained on “birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy loss and postpartum mood disorders.”

Angela Wenger owns Ooh La LUXE Flower Walls, which she described as a “faux-flower wall rental company based out of Littleton.”
Wenger said the walls available to rent are made of silk flowers. According to the business’ website, customers can choose from a collection of arrangements offered on an 8 feet by 8 feet wall.

Longmont
Molly Gallaher Fitness is personal trainer Molly Gallaher’s business; she focuses on prenatal and postnatal women’s fitness, and she sees clients in person and through an app.
Her website notes that in-person training is available one-on-one and in small groups.
Louisville
Brittany Bartlett owns Rocky Mountain Tap & Garden in Louisville.
They serve locally sourced food and have more than 30 rotating drinks on their self-pour taps. According to their website, their beer garden offers live music, games and events; it is also dog and child-friendly.
The restaurant offers several food and drink specials throughout the week that can be found on their website’s event page.
Parker
Candy Moad owns FeeLess Freedom Processing, a card processing organization that caters to small and medium-sized businesses.
According to their website, FeeLess Freedom Processing specializes in DualPrice services designed to save merchants money, which allows them to accept cash or card; they also offer interchange and flat fee credit card processing options.

Peyton
Liz Isley owns Metamorphaces LLC., an entertainment services-focused business that has been around since 2016.
Isley said Metamorphaces’ offerings go beyond face painting; they range from festive sparkly accessories to character visits, including their butterfly mascot, Morphay.
“Beyond face painting, we offer a wide range of entertainment services, including balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, airbrush tattoos, festival glitter, hair tinsel and feathers, character visits and so much more! Our goal is to bring creativity and joy to every event we attend.”
Westminster
Toni Mehring owns My Mind is Alive Studios, a community art space where she hosts events that promote mental health, joy and interaction.
Mehring said several of her events promote self-care and compassion through art and healing activities.
“I host painting, crafting, jewelry making and indoor plant craft and care classes where I promote interaction with the participants. I love seeing single ticket buyers [who] come alone leave making new friends.”
Multiple Cities and Online Only
Based in Aurora and Denver, Lady Dusters LLC is Alma Galvan’s business.
Lady Dusters LLC is a cleaning business that serves “Loveland, Fort Collins, Greeley and most of Northern Colorado,” according to their website; they can do house, vehicle and commercial cleaning, and they prioritize deep cleaning with eco-friendly products.
Galvan said via email that she has owned this business for six years, starting the now six-figure company as a side business with $50. She added that Lady Dusters LLC donates two house cleanings to Cleaning for a Reason every month to help cancer patients.
Sandra Marquez is the founder of Socially Active Marketing. She described herself as a “driven entrepreneur committed to helping small businesses stay visible, engaged, and thriving online.”
She works with local businesses to develop social media plans that suit their needs and identities while simultaneously helping them build community connections and practice consistency.
“If you’re a business owner looking for help with social media—or just want to connect with someone who’s been in your shoes—[Galvan] would love to hear from you. Let’s grow together, support each other and make an impact!”
Karena Luerssen is a local travel advisor who also owns Travel Amore Vacations. She has more than 15 years of experience in her field.
She said she helps build “unique and tailored travel experiences for groups and families, with an emphasis on Europe.”

Devin Porch co-owns Sunshine Farms Candles & Crafts with her husband, Ronald Porch; she said they sell handmade soaps and soy candles.
The mom-and-pop black-owned business also offers samples in their catalog.
Porch said they hope to be a source of community support, especially for black professionals. “We're also a Black-owned business, and we're hoping to use our business to support black professionals and communities of color.”
Alisa Gray owns Red Jasper Mental Health, through which she provides “virtual psychotherapy for clients residing in Colorado.”
Gray offers one-on-one online sessions and specializes in “Health Worker Burnout and Compassion Fatigue.”
Ashley Strong, a licensed social worker, owns Strong Skies Therapy, LLC, which provides “In person and Online Therapy for Adults in Colorado and Nebraska.”
Strong specializes in relationship issues, pet loss grief, trauma, depression and life transitions therapy.

Brianne Maes owns Mills & Mae Services, which, according to their website, “coaches and connects Remote Assistants all across the United States with amazing, hard-working business owners who need to spend more time working ON their business rather than IN their business.”
Mills & Maes Services will business owners with an assistant who can best handle their needs after a free consultation, and they can coach the assistants at the client’s request through an onboarding process and on an ongoing basis.
Brooke Hague is the owner of The Soulcravt, a business through which she practices spiritual coaching with a Neuro-Linguistic Programming, yoga, mindfulness and transformational approach.
According to The Soulcravt’s website, the business’ mission is “to help you reclaim your power, cultivate self-belief, and step boldly into a life that feels fulfilling and authentic.”

Velina Dinkova owns The French Institute Online, which offers several course options that teach people of all ages to speak French. Their website notes that they focus on providing small synchronous classes, capped at 12 students.

Tallulah Hall owns R&T Lawn Care, a small family business specializing in lawn care and irrigation.
According to their Facebook page, R&T Lawn Care will begin offering their spring services in April. A flyer on their Facebook page lists these options, which include a long-tiered mowing, trimming and weeding plan, spring cleanup, new mulch, sprinkler activations and more.

Bria Hutchinson owns Coalessence Co, which she described as “a values-aligned marketing service for women-owned businesses in the Denver area.”
Hutchinson said she works with clients on web design, SEO, copy, blog posts, descriptions, email marketing and newsletters.

AZ Events offers “Build A Plush” services at events within Colorado, in which they bring all the equipment and materials.
According to their website, AZ Events has more than 40 stuffed animal options and provides outfits, carriers, “wishes,” certificates and more.

Based in Colorado Springs, The Buzzy B offers resources meant to help parents, and they host and spotlight kid-friendly events within and outside of Colorado.
