Free Christmas Meal Guide: Potlucks and meal events across the state

Note: Everything highlighted in this guide was either found through suggestions from Colorado residents or promotional social media posts from organizations/businesses in Colorado. No local publications were consulted or used to create this list.
This entry is an extension of a short video I posted listing free Christmas meal events throughout Colorado; it provides more information and instructions on each event mentioned. Happy holidays!
Alamosa
Free Community Christmas Dinner, a local nonprofit, will host a dinner on Dec. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chili and other refreshments will be served starting at 11:30. Attendees can also enter drawings for bicycles starting at 12:30 p.m.
Berthoud
Derby Grille is having a potluck on Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share but are not required to. An ugly sweater contest will also take place, and the winner will receive free drinks.
Colorado Springs
Wackadoo Brewing will host a Christmas potluck on Dec. 25. Food will be served at 1 p.m., and bringing a dish is optional.
Ohana Kava Bar is hosting a Christmas Day potluck at one of their locations; the event begins at 4 p.m., and bringing a dish is not required. Those who want to bring a dish can sign up in person at the event’s location.
Conifer
The Well at Bradford Junction is having a potluck on Dec. 25 from 2 to 8 p.m. A sign-up sheet to bring a dish can be found at the event location.
Denver
Burns Family Artisan Ales Brewery & Taproom will have a potluck on Dec. 25 from 2 to 9 p.m. Attendees should bring a dish that serves 10 people and serving utensils.
The brewery will give out gifts ranging from $5 to $350 in value in a white-elephant fashion. Drink discounts will be available, and each customer’s discount will be determined by rolling a 20-sided die.

Eagle
Second Street Tavern will have a potluck on Dec. 25 at 4:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share.
Golden
Dirty Dogs Roadhouse will host a Christmas Day potluck; it begins at 2 p.m., and attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. The pub will provide rolls, potatoes, turkey and ham.
Montrose
Montrose Community Dinners will deliver free meals to the homes of seniors and homebound residents on Christmas morning. Requests outside of Montrose cannot be fulfilled.
The free meals can be ordered by calling 970-318-6759 or through the organization’s website. Orders must be made by noon on Dec. 24.
Morrison
Morrison Holiday Bar is hosting a Christmas Day meal starting at 1 p.m. Free parking will be provided.
Parachute
Shommy’s is having a Christmas party on Dec. 25 from 2 to 9 p.m. Attendees can enjoy free food and activities, and children who attend will receive a free gift.
Salida
High Side! Bar & Grill will have a Christmas potluck on Dec. 25 from 5 to 9 p.m. Attendees are not required to bring a dish.
